Wholesale Hemp and Cotton Fabric

Thailand is famous for it's wide range of handwoven fabrics ; silk, cotton and hemp being the best known.

Many of the different materials found in the north of Thailand are still handwoven on traditional style looms, handcrafted from local timbers, and manually operated using feet and hands.

The dyes used to create the beautiful colors are often made from natural sources, such as plants, fruits, vegetables and minerals. The bark of certain trees produces wonderful colors, and the indigo plant is widely grown in weaving villages for creating different shades of indigo color.

We source locally made fabrics to use for making our range of handbags, shoulder bags, totes and purses. But we can also supply wholesale buyers with fabrics either in rolls or by the square yard. Our rolls of natural hemp fabric comes in rolls either 5 or 10 yards long, by about 12 -14 inches wide. The reason these rolls are so narrow is because it is handwoven on a back-strap loom, a portable loom which can be rolled up and carried around. A leather belt or strap around the weaver's back creates the tension needed to enable weaving. The difference in the widths of the rolls is simply because every weaver has his or her own style of weaving, and the width of the finished product is determined by the physical size of the weaver.
