These beautiful bamboo condiment holders were originally used as rice containers, back in the old days before “Tupperware” was ever heard of.

Some people still use them today to store or serve sticky rice, a popular part of the diet in northern Thailand.

They are constructed from a woven bamboo frame which is plastered and hand painted. The base is made of wood and the lid is held down simply by knotting the carry cord.

 

Bamboo rice containers can be used to store just about any dry food found in the pantry, including grains, cereals, nuts, dried fruit, candy, sugar and spices. They look great on the dining room table and are very popular in the restaurant and hotel industries.

They are available in a huge range of shapes, sizes, colors and designs, and are yet another fine example of Thai craftsmanship.

This set is comprised of five rice containers measuring 8" tall x 6" wide. The set is made up of five different colors ;  black, white, red, light blue and yellow ocher. Other colors can be supplied when available. Please contact us with any sales inquiries.
